Alison W. Hughes

Alison W. Hughes, MS, CCC-SLP received her Bachelors Degree in Hearing and Speech Sciences from the University of Maryland and her Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of the District of Columbia; there she completed extensive research in the area of treatment for motor speech disorders, including apraxia of speech.

Alison is passionate about working with individuals with a variety of speech, language and communication disorders. In order to provide the most appropriate and effective therapies, Alison has completed training in Visual Phonics, PROMPT Therapy, Lindamood Bell's Visualizing and Verbalizing and feeding therapy, a sensory motor approach, as well as attended courses on a variety of other topics. Alison places a special emphasis on collaborating with educators and other related specialists, to ensure the best possible outcomes for each of her clients. Additionally, Alison enjoys being an active member of the District of Columbia's Speech-Language-Hearing Association, where she has served on the Executive Board since 2010.
